Our bath towel is specifically designed for newborn swaddle bath, which is a common practice in Japan.

During a swaddle bath, your newborn is wrapped with a bath towel (or thin blanket) and then immersed in a bathtub filled with water - up until your newborn's shoulder. The immersed bath towel allows the warm water to travel up the towel and warm up your newborn's body. You can also pour some water over the towel periodically to keep the towel warm.

Q: Is Suzuran Baby Gauze Bath Towel washable and reusable?

Yes, our bath towel is made of 100% pure Japan medical use standard absorbent cotton gauze which is washable and reusable.

You can choose to (1) hand wash or (2) machine wash with baby detergent and select gentle cycle / low spin. Do remember that washing it with warm or hot water will shrink the fabric. Once it is done washing, just hang dry it under the sun.

Q: Why can I spot beige colored dots on Suzuran Baby Gauze Bath Towel? 

Our bath towel is unbleached and has no additives, chemicals and fluorescence added during production. Therefore, our bath towel is off-white in color and you might find beige colored dots on the fabric as it was not bleached. This helps ensure that our bath towel is more natural, friendly, and safe for newborn babies.

Q: How else can I use Suzuran Baby Gauze Bath Towel other than swaddle bathing?

Our bath towel is a multipurpose towel and you can transform it into:

• Drying towel

You can continue to use our bath towel to dry your baby after bath time. As it is highly absorbent, it will help to dry baby quickly to prevent baby catching a cold.

• Burping cloth

Spitting up and dribbling milk with burps is common in babies. Hence, you may use our bath towel as a large burping cloth that will catches all messes when you burp your baby.

• “Baby’s Pillow”
